Chuna Khola Mosque

This mosque stands about one mile to the north-west of Bagerhat Shat Gombuj Masjid. There is a semi-round huge dome that almost covers the entire roof of the square shaped mosque made of bricks. Designs of flowers, creepers, and joined circles, acute or obtuse angled trapezium have been painted in the ornamental work of terracotta. The mosque was built by a certain employee of Khan Jahan Ali (R). The mosque has been named so because it is located at Chuna Khola village. Perhaps once upon a time there were human habitations, but now human habitations are at a long distance. The Archaeological Department has already reformed the architecturally valuable mosque of the period of Khan Jahan Ali (R).
