Husain Shahi Mosque

The mosque that measures 23 metres x 15 meters (75’ x 49’) was built at Sonatala village near Bagerhat town. This mosque is also known as Adina Mosque. There are 10 semi-round domes on the roof. At every corner there remain a turret and the end of the roof is slightly bow-shaped. Though bricks and lime were used in the construction, yet stone slabs have been used on the outer covering. The inside wall is full of outstanding decoration of flowers and creepers of teracotta. Based on the artistic beauty, it is presumed that the mosque was built during the rule of Sultan Hosen Shah of Gour. At present the mosque lacks its existence except a few pillars.
