Ronvijoypur Mosque

This mosque stands at Ronvijoypur village on the south side of the road about two kilometres to the east of the house of Khan Jahan Ali (R). It is also known as Fakirbari Mosque. The walls made of bricks are about 10 ft. (3.1 metres) wide. There is a big dome on the mosque. This dome built in the shape of an upside-down cup looks handsome. The diameter at the bottom of the dome is 36 ft. (10.9 metres). A mosque with such a big dome is found nowhere in Bagerhat. It is guessed that the style of construction and archeological strategy were developed during the life time of Khan Jahan Ali (R). Recently the Archaeological Department has reformed the mosque.
