Shrine of Khan Jahan Ali (R)

The tomb of Khan Jahan Ali (R) stands on a high mound on the bank of Khanjeli Dighi (Pond). It is surrounded by an outer wall 220 ft. (67.7 metres) east-west longwise and 212 ft. (64.7 metres) north-south longwise. It is known as a Mausoleum Complex. Inside the complex remains the square tomb of Khan Jahan Ali (R). From the inscription on one of the tomb stones, it is learnt that Khan Jahan Ali (R) died on 27 Jilhaj, 863 Hijri (October 25, 1459). The mosque-building still looks handsome because of the regular maintenance work of the Archaeological Department.
