Ten-dome Mosque

This ancient mosque is situated at Sadar upazila in Bagerhat district. Archaeologists opine that this ten domed mosque was built by Khan Jahan Ali in the 15th century. Once there was a small mosque and the local people found an old establishment there while they demolished the mosque with a view to building a new one at that place. It was appreared from the structure measuring 5.40 m (17.71 feet) X 5.52 m (18.11 feet) of the ancient mosque that the mosque was also built in the same design as like as the structure of the Sixty-dome mosque. It is assumed that due to natural disaster the original mosque was damaged and thereafter a semi brick built mosque was constructed there. At present this mosque has been reconstructed in a new shape.
