Charpatra Mura

This shrine is situated on top of a 35 ft. high hill adjacent to the garrison mosque in the cantonment area 1.5 kms away from the north of Kotila Mura. This shrine has been given the name Charpatra Mura after receiving the four copperplate grants. This temple was founded during about 1000-1020 AD. This is also known as Madhava (Visnu) temple.  Here a Buddhist temple 105 ft. long on east-west, and 55 ft. wide on the north-south was discovered.
