Baniachang Gram (village)

Baniachang is the biggest village in Asia. The area of this upazila is 495 square miles (1267 sq. km) and consists of 15 unions (small administrative units). This upazila is mainly surrounded by Haors. To protect it as a capital, the then kings had dug a protective trench named the ‘Gorer Khal’. To the north of the upazila, there are some other notable large ponds namely the Jatra Dighi, Mojlishpur Dighi, Kamalkhani Dighi, Jamalpur Dighi, Dewan Dighi, Thakuran Dighi, and Akhra Dighi of Shyam Baul are mention worthy.
