Aniseed Cultivation and Cotton Cultivation

Mauri (aniseed) across the vast areas of Jessore is one of the main attractions. These aniseeds or Guamauris are used widely across the country as ingredients of different spices. Tourists who visit these areas in February-March can enjoy the aniseeds cultivation.

Hybrid and native varieties of cotton are grown in about 4,000 acres of land in Jessore region. Cotton is cultivated in large quantities throughout the southwestern part of the district including Jagdishpur in Chaugacha. If someone visits in the middle of January, he/she can observe the vast white cotton fields in this area.
