Poet Kazi Kader Newaj’s House

Kazi Bari of Mujdia village under Sreepur upzila by the side of the Kumar River is the paternal house of the celebrated poet Kazi Kader Newaj. His highly popular book of verse is “Moral”. He was born at Talibpur of Murshidabad district in 1909. After the partition of the country, he came to Bangladesh and settled down here. Out of his notable compositions his poem ‘Shikkhaker Morjada’ (respect for teachers) has earned for him high reputation. Kabi Kader Newaj won the President Award, Bangla Academy Award, and Mother Box Award.  This house is a two storied building and close to it there is a shady large garden. He died in 1983, and his grave is here in this house.
