Nijhum Island

Nijhum Island with its area of 40 square miles is a natural pleasure ground of boundless beauty. This island is situated in the estuary of the river Meghna about 60 miles away on the south from Hatia upazila of Noakhali district on the bosom of the Bay of Bengal. This island has fascinating and wonderful splendor of the green, here one can enjoy the sea waves that dash against the south seashore and the sunrise and the sunset view. The mangrove forest, the extensive seashore, the notes of sea birds, the roam of deer, monkeys, and cows-buffaloes attract the attention of the tourists.
