Rakhain Ethnic Minority

A good number of Rakhain Communities who settled a few hundred years ago were found in the areas at Kalapara, Khepupara of Patuakhali. The Rakhain communities were driven out from their own homeland in 1780 by the Barmise King Bodofoa, as a result for fear of life they took shelter in boats in different places on the shore of the Bay of Bengal and then they become united into tribes and started setting down at Kuakata. Once upon a time the Rakhain Communities were majority but today they are minority .They have still upheld their tradition, culture customs. The hospitality and their traditional cultural activities attract the tourists.
