Srimongol Buddhist Temple & Seema Buddhist Temple

There are two temples situated at Keranipara near the seashore. The Srimongol Buddist Temple is also known as Srimongol Buddhist Bihar (Monastery). This temple built by the government assistance is the main place to worship for the Rakhaine buddist community of this upazila. The construction period of the other temple named Seema Buddist temple at the same place is not known for sure. Inside the temple, on about one metre (3 feet) high altar, a medium sized contemplative statue made of eight metals lies there. There is hearsay that one Buddhist Monk Upengyea founded the statue. The construction style of the beautiful temple made of wood and tin has followed that of Indio-china.
