Poet Ahsan Habib’s House

Ahsan Habib (1917-1985) was a famous Bangladeshi poet and litterateur in the domain of Bengali literature. He was born at Shankarpasha village in Sadar upazila of Pirojpur district. As he held the office of the literary editor in the “Dainik Bangla” for a long time, he played the role of a guardian in the post liberation literature arena in Bangladesh. In the forties, he was regarded as one of the chief modern poet. His notable books RatriShesh, ChhayaHorin, Sara Dupur, Ashaey Bosoti, Megh Bole Chaitre Jabo, Dui Hate Dui Adim Pathor, Premar Kabita, Bidirno Darpane Mukh etc. Besides these, out of novels, Rani Khal-er Shako, Aronyo Neelima, and Jafrani Rang Payra are noteworthy. Though with the passage of time, the house of the poet is lost, yet his homestead still exists.
