Kathin Chibar Dan

To the Therbadi Buddha in hill tracts districts ‘Kathin Chibar Dan’ is a remarkable ceremony. The red dyed cloth is called chivar. This type of chibar (a piece of cloth dyed red) is required to be prepared within 24 hours that is why it is called ‘Kathin Chibar’ that means ‘difficult cloths’. Once a year during the time that is from the second day of the full moon to the day of the next full moon that is till the full moon of Bangla Kartik month, a magnificent ceremony is held and through the ceremony the monks are given ‘Kathin Chibar’.
